Gratitude List

My precious brother So has a gratitude list everyday. He is committed to posting what he is thankful for each and every day. I thought it was time I posted the things I am thankful for.

God
faith
my family
my dogs
my horses
a roof over my head
my job and the rewards I get from working hard
my health.....albeit a bit challenging sometimes!
my wonderful Dr. Turnbo
my 1999 Toyota Camry that is paid for and has been for years
being able to have all of my senses....sight, hearing, taste, touch, speech
the patience I have learned over the years
to have been able to spend quality time with my Dad before he passed
to have been given the gift from God for Mother to hear me just before she passed
a very comfortable bed to sleep in each night
to live in America, to have freedom of choice in all aspects of my life
to have been raised in the church
that my daughter has found God and loves to go to church
to work with people that I truly like
the beautiful sunrises and sunsets I can see most every day
to have decided before I had to (because of my Mother's health) to move back to Kentucky to raise my son
to have a good marriage....not that it doesn't have it's "times"
to have good credit
that on 9/11/2005 I quit smoking after 30+ years.......FOR GOOD!
my most recent biopsy was just an infected hair follicle (kinda funny when you think about it)
that my recent cancer was very treatable and not hereditary so my kids have no need to fear
that I talked with my son last night and he is working, is safe and has a roof over his head
to have lived with my beloved brother for 3 years when I first moved to Houston
my blogger friends! I care for all of you guys

I have so much to be grateful for. Sometimes it is overwhelming. But at times I like to sit back and think of them. It helps to put things in prospective, at least for me. My Mother used to have a saying and believe me, it has gotten me through more times than I can count in my adult life. She used to tell me "Lisa, no matter how bad it is, there is always, always someone worse off than you." Speaks volumes doesn't it? Wow, how I miss my momma.

Let's all be grateful for what we have and not be wishing for what we don't have. Whatcha think?

There you go...lighting a single candle, instead of cursing the darkness.

Gratitude is always a good place to spend time.

Terrific list. We should all do this from time to time. There are so many things to be thankful for.

Gratitude gives me the faith and trust that all is just as it is supposed to be. It wipes out the negative and fertilizes the positive. A life spent in gratitude shines bright!

TB, well said and all true.

One of the joys in getting older is appreciating each and every moment as you realize the remaining moments are getting fewer and fewer.

Thanks,

Dan
