Pond Invasion

As I was leaving today to take Stephanie to her boyfriend's house we noticed some visitors at our pond.

Aren't they pretty?

They stayed at the pond until late this afternoon when my neighbor's horses got out and ran onto our property. They ran down by the pond and sure enough, the geese took off. That's ok though. I was glad the horses got home safely.

We were thrilled to have them because we have not had any geese here in a long time. Joe said there was a lone duck, a Mallard, a few weeks ago for a couple of days. I saw him once. He is the only bird that has used the float Joe made last summer for the ducks we had at the pond. None of the rest would get up on it. Silly birds.

Great to see them , but I will be happier in a few months when they come back home for spring . We ussually have 5 or 6 sets on our farm for the summer.

Great photos! I saw a flock of geese flying over our house about a week ago...I thought it was pretty odd that they had stuck around as long as they had.

Thanks for stopping by my blog yesterday!

At the Resource Center here there is a pond with duck and geese. They are there all year round. You can send yours down for the winter. I am sure ours won't mind.
