Annie Update

IMG_7539

Annie has had an interesting side effect of the medicine she is taking. She now has stripes!

Weird huh?

I'm only kidding, of course. But look how her tongue has changed back to the pink color! Just last week it started turning black on the bottom and parts of the top but now it has gone back to the original color. That has to be a good sign don't ya think?

And see here how her eyes look a bit cloudy? They are much clearer now. I know that there is no cure for the cancer that she has but she is feeling and looking better. Just last night she was playing with a toy, batting it around and jumping! When I asked her if she wanted to go outside she looked from the corner of her eyes at me and did her little play jump when I reached out for her.

We have kept her on a diet of canned Alpo since she was diagnosed. For the first few days she didn't have much of an appetite but just this morning after she pottyed she walked over to Sophie's bowl and started eating a bit of dry food which means she was really hungry. Wow, that means so much to us to see that.

I talked to Jason the evening before last night about her. I had a lot of questions for him. I felt much better after talking to him. We will keep her as comfortable as possible for as long as she has a quality life. Then we will have to be responsible pet owners. But hopefully that won't be for a long time. Jason said he has seen a dog last 2 years before. We shall see.

But in the meantime we are enjoying our baby as much as we can. We are also spoiling her bigtime! All the while we are careful to pay a lot of attention to Sophie too since she knows something is up but doesn't know what it is.

We are thankful for every day we have with her. Thank you all for your kind words and prayers. They seem to be working.

Oh I am so happy she is looking better!!!

I remember when my Boo was so ill, just getting him to eat and drink was half of the battle and when he would I would feel so elated and hopeful!

She looks beautiful Striped or not! ha!

She is a tiger in her heart. Hence, the stripes. Annie, you are a good girl. Keep up the good work with your health. Eat that Alpo.

Part zebra Huh. All I have to do is say outside and Mamie runs to the back door and just starts jumping. If I jumped like that when I had to do my business, well I would need a hell of a lot of stain remover. Love those babies, they are on loan to us. She has a good mommie and daddy. WOOF. Thats' from Mamie to Annie.

Oh Annie... you are just so pretty, it's hard to believe you are going through so much.

You are lucky to have such loving and caring parents (and sister).

We keep you in our thoughts and prayers,
