My Vacation

My vacation is next week. We were supposed to travel to Ohio to see these precious babes

girls13

but since I have to start radiation therapy tomorrow afternoon we will not be able to make it. Starting tomorrow at 3:40pm and for every day except the weekends through July 31st I will have radiation to my nose where the cancer is. Oddly enough I am not scared at all. I feel that it is in the Lord's hands and he has done a pretty good job of looking out after me for 50 years so why should this be any different?

I don't think the treatments are going to effect me other than an area of the nose that will be similar to a sunburn. At least that is what I am hoping for. But whatever it is I am up to the challenge. I am a little ticked about one thing though. Recently I purchased a cancer policy through AFLAC. The bad news is that this cancer was diagnosed during the 30 day waiting period. The good news of course is that the cancer is treatable. Not to mention that my children will not have to worry about the same for them as it is not hereditary. I will buy a brand new bottle of SPF50 today and keep it all over my face during this time. Actually I will probably use it daily from now on. I have been using a face cream w/SPF15 but I need to move up a bit.

Good luck! I know you will whether this well, you have to, too many grandbabies are waiting on you to entertain them! Plus God would not give you something you could not handle. Get a big sunhat!

Good grief, you are a busy woman!! It looks like you are a sweet grandma as well--regarding your post on your granddaughter's visit :) I am sorry that your treatments will keep you away from your new grand babies, but hey, the treatments will help ensure that you are around for a LONG time to enjoy them!
The post below about the fates of our forefathers was perfect for the 4th!
See you later.

I agree with michellesg...you'd look fabulous in a great big sun hat.

Well, make sure you get that muu muu to match that hat. That insurance policy is still a good idea.
