Update on Ryan

He called last night and talked a long time with Joe. Apparently he has decided that he is through with the pills. Of course we have heard this before but there is always hope. He called again later on last night to talk to me. We had a good conversation. He has the right mindset now, I can only hope and pray that he will stick with it.

He called me again this morning. His face is still really swollen but he is mending. He sounded really good. I said all the right things, things that have been said time and time again, he did appear to listen but then who knows. I think the fact that there might be someone who will file felony charges against him hit home hard. The police don't believe what the guy that will/may file the charges is saying but still. I know it would get my attention. Time will tell.

For now all we can do is hope and pray and continue to turn it over to God.

Thank you everyone for your wonderful and kind comments. They mean so much to me.

Prayers for you and your family, Lisa. I can't think of anything harder in life than to watch our children suffer, whether it's something they've brought on themselves or not. If only we could take on the burdens ourselves.

GOOOOOOOOOOOD. Maybe he has had his moment of clarity. I shall pray for that. Also, good to see Abby mentioned. I miss seeing her pics in pink.

I'm catching up on your blog this afternoon. I'm sorry to read about Ryan.
Sympathy kills addicts and alcoholics.
You are doing the right thing, but you know that. It doesn't make it any easier, though, does it? The right thing is often the most difficult.
I'll keep your family in my prayers.

That is good your son is taking the first step and wants to keep the pills out of his life. Hopefully he has the gumption to do it for good this time. I will be thinking of you as you start this process with him! Hang in there TB!
