Supper with Abby

Joe and Stephanie went to the high school football game Friday night (Steph's boyfriend is on the team) so Abby and I had supper by ourselves. She choose bologna and cheese. She also choose to be silly, but beings that she is my granddaughter I wouldn't have it any other way.

It always tastes better after it has been picked up and torn apart. Don't you agree?

Wait! This coke is missing something.

One must always stir one's coke with your finger in order to get just the right taste.

No bologna or cheese gets away from my Abby. Uh, I think we need to trim those nails young lady!

Grandmother? Can I be done? That is what Abby says whenever she wants to be excused from the table. Not that we demand that anyone say 'may I be excused?'. That is just way too fancy for my house. We do however, make sure that table manners are followed. No need to be a heathen.

After dinner we decided to get her into the bath. She didn't want her hair washed because her mommy had straightened it so very pretty so we utilized her Aunt Sissy's showercap. Isn't it lovely?

It does serve a purpose though. I remember once when my brother wore one at the drive in, but that is another story!

Thanks for the new bath toys Grandmother!

No problem my precious. Anything you want is what I want to buy you!

She took a bubble bath Friday night. She wanted to take another one on Saturday but oh no. With the little girls you have to be careful how many bubble baths they take. It can make certain places a bit irritated, if you know what I mean. If you don't then just ignore this last statement.

We played and played after her bath. Then we settled down to some serious Spongebob Squarepants on TV. That is the funniest cartoon. I seriously don't mind watching it over and over again. Not to mention Abby loves it.

Soon it was time for bed so I laid her on my bed with Spongebob on and she quickly fell asleep. I wasn't too far behind her. Miss Annie got into the bed before I did. After all, her mission for the weekend was to watch after my precious. Have I mentioned that I love my life?

Pray tell that wasn't I who adorned said shower cap at the drive in. I certainly do not remember that item.

Of course food tastes better when it has been all over your face! Every well-bred lady knows that.

So, you MUST be kidding. You DO remember don't you?

No, seriously I don't. Was it the drive-in movies? Or DQ?

Doesn't everyone eat cheese and bologna torn to bits and placed on the eyes?
