Ike

For all my friends and loved ones in the path of Ike, please take care of yourselves.

I know this is a frightening time for all of you. I have been in your shoes and it is not a good feeling. Hurricane Alicia in 1983 was the last one on the same projected path as Ike and it did a lot of damage. In fact it got me and a lot of other Bellsouth employees back to work (we were on strike at the time). I was one of the lucky ones that did not lose electricity during Alicia. We were able to watch it all unfold on TV. Ike is a big storm as we all know. I didn't have a good feeling about this storm even before it went into the Gulf. Now I know why.

I will pray for all of you and with God's help we will all be OK. Please be careful.

Trailboss, I can't for the life of me figure out WHY I do not visit your blog regularly. Maybe I offended you, and you told me off?? Don't know.

ANYWAY, I'm gonna blogroll "trailboss" now, because you need to read my wonderful writings, which will be up there right next to Shakespeare--when HELL freezes over! -grin-

However, please, PLEASE letus all know how the East Texas Gang is doing, when and if ya find out. OK?

The noon meeting was jam packed. I knew it would be. The streets are sorta empty. There are no cars parked on our street, which is usually full. The construction site at the end of our block doesn't seem to have cleaned up their property enough. I am about to load up the car and go to KAS's to ride out the storm. more later...

I also hope that people and animals will be safe. Houses can be rebuilt.

We are staying at home. I am in south west Louisiana. We are already getting gusts of wind up to 30mph. Nothing major. Some random rain showers. I hope it just stays like this. My heart and prayers go out to the people in Houston and Orange County Texas.
