Trails

I love this trail. It leads to another country road but I have yet to get all the way down it. It used to be a road back when there were no cars. But now it is overgrown and some places are impossible to get through on horseback. But I will continue to try to clean it out and some day I will get to the other side. Dang, that sounds like some sci-fi shit or something. Maybe I'd better drop bread crumbs so I can find my way back.

Evocative photo.
There was a faint ridge running through our yard when I was young, barely noticeable unless you were mowing the lawn. It was the remnant of a long-ago road, and when the lake was low, you could see a few weathered posts where a wooden bridge once crossed. These pathways had been abandoned long ago, and it always gave me a weird feeling to think about that.

Thanks for the invite to your blog. It was heaven to go 'virtual riding' with you. I wrote about my trip to Keeneland yesterday... it was a little magical.

I would love to ride down that trail! I think it's a great idea to keep those old roads clear for riding on.
