TGIF

Awwwwwwww..........a 3 day weekend. A much needed item for myself. I don't have any pictures today but will have some of my new grand babies after their visit this weekend. I need to ask their mommy and daddy if it's ok to post their pics since they are so little bitty.

The kids are supposed to arrive in Kansas sometime this afternoon, before I get home from work. I can't wait to gather up the little twins and smell that baby smell, watch them look at me like I have horns growing out of my head. You know, how babies look at the world. The wonder and innocence in their eyes. **Sigh**

As far as I know they are having dinner at my house tonight. I am hoping Joe makes his famous salt steak. OH MY GOSH!! Talk about wonderful. Everyone in the family loves it. It is round steak cut by the local butcher about the width of Joe's thumb, about 2". He seasons it and puts pickling salt all over it (hence the name) for a while and then grills it. It cooks to an amazing goodness of medium to medium rare steak with juice galore. It is Heavenly. We usually fix Rice A' Roni, baked potatoes, sauteed mushrooms and rolls.

I am looking so forward to this evening. Family all around, new babies, my precious Abby (of course). It should prove to be a great evening.

I'm so happy that you'll get to see the twins this weekend. And my mouth is watering just thinking about the steak. My husband makes flat iron steak. OHMYGOSH! They are so good.

You're finished with your radiation treatments right?

Yes Carrie. I finished them on July 31st and I am happy to report my nose is finally back to looking as normal as it ever has. I have had to deal with some issues from the radiation but nothing I can't handle. I am still so thankful as to how lucky I was.

Thanks for asking!

Can't wait to hear how the visit goes. Enjoyed all the pics from your last few posts...sweet rainbow head Abbie and the fun dogs and of course, your horses. I don't remember though, what happened to Son and the gaited horse?

Thanks. Now I'm REALLY starving. I'm pretty much hungry all the time anyway, but that whole meal sounds AMAZING! My man also grills up a pretty mean steak, he marinates them in beer and puts all these weird seasonings on them, and then has the timing down to a science. I'll have to recommend pickling salt!

Hmmm...he gets home at 3: today...do you suppose if I ran down to the market and purchased some steaks he'd fix me a similar meal? Lets hope so, cause that's what I'm doing!

Are you gonna blend up the steaks so the babies can have some? ;)

Have a fun and safe weekend with the grandkids. We have our's, too.

PG, both Son and Jasper, the gaited horse were sold. My daughter's dominant gelding beat down Son's mind but we sold him to a little 6 yr old daughter. Jasper went to a horse trader in Illinois. I'm sure he has made someone a fine steed. I hated having to sell them, Jetty too (the filly Joe bought) but you just have to do what you have to do in order to find the right horse.

That's what my mom always said about her breast cancer, "Thank God, I caught it when I did." I never heard my mother complain about the chemo or the surgery. It was always, "I'm gonna beat this S*(%T." And she did and I am so very proud of that amazing woman!

You're enthusiasm is contagious!
You will have to explain the kid/grandkid situation as I'm not following the players.
