Jessie

After breakfast Sunday Joe and I took Bugs, er I mean Abby to Walmart. We needed to pick up a few items so while there we decided to get some ideas on what she might want for Christmas. She picked out this and that and stopped for that one and another one all over the toy department. We ended up getting a new jump rope, a new book and a cute little baby doll for her. Earlier that morning Joe had found an old milk and juice bottle set that Stephanie had when she was a little girl. The little girl doll was just right for that item.

On the way home from Walmart we asked Abby what she was going to name her baby doll. Joe came up with a few names and she didn't like them. She thought and thought then I said "How about Jessie?" She loved that idea because that is the nickname that her mommy got from Stephanie when she was a little girl and couldn't say Bethany. It came out as Jessie. Abby's Aunt Amy still calls Beth Jessie so it was a perfect fit. After the naming of the doll Abby decided that Jessie needed to be serenaded.

It was a really cute mix of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Rock a' Bye Baby. Jessie was quite thrilled.

Every time Abby would get to the point in Twinkle Twinkle Little Star where she said "up above the world so high" Jessie got a lift!

When we got home she proceeded to feed Jessie milk and then juice. I was able to record her singing again. I tried to send it to her mommy in Ohio but it failed. I will either add it to this post after I get home or try to send it to her another way. I think it is important that she hears her precious. Especially since she tells her mommy that she loves her. How special is that?

It's great getting caught up with your blog. I'm not sure who's having more fun -- you or Abby. And how wonderful that Beth gets to spend time helping her sister, and know that her little girl is safe and happy! Thanks for the award:) I will get to posting it on my blog one of these days. Right now, I'm too wiped out to do anything over there, so I'm just having fun getting caught up with reading everyone else's;)
