Winter wheat everywhere!

It's almost harvest time for the acres and acres of winter wheat.

Isn't it beautiful? There are many acres of this delicious wheat along the road on my way home. I took a few shots the other day. I hope you enjoy.

Simple is the most beautiful. Odd it's called winter wheat when it is harvested in the summer. See, more weird names for stuff.

So, it is grown during the winter, hence the name winter wheat. Silly

Those are some wonderful shots! I love it when photographers take pictures of kid in winter wheat. The wheat makes for a great backdrop.

Hi there! Thanks for visiting my blog. You found me via Karen.. which one? lol I have a few Karen's who follow my blog!
Your home looks amazing, in the first photo I thought the whole thing was under the ground! I have NEVER seen a house like that. You wouldn't be allowed to build a house into the ground like that here.

Very nice. Wheat has been around for a long, long time. I can see some future wheat bread being made from this very grain.

Oh yes, reminds me of a verse from a beautiful song - "Amber waves of grain"

I've never even heard of winter wheat but it's beautiful! It makes me want to go running and jumping in it.
