September 2008 ride

I found some pictures on my Sony camera from last year. I remember the ride, it was when Jones took a bad step and I slipped out of the saddle. It's a wonder neither one of us was hurt.

I love the view from the back of a horse. Their ears flicking back and forth. Every time I say something one of Jones' ears goes back to hear what I am saying. A lot of people don't realize how much a horse uses their ears. Did you know that if a horse gets water in their ears it will kill them?

See the ear? I must have been saying something to her.

Dakota was happy she was back.

You can tell the difference in the quality of photos taken with the Sony and with my newest camera, the Cannon.

I swear, if it wasn't going to be 689 degrees today I would ride her when I get home. Maybe in September.

Love the pictures. Your horses are beautiful. When I was growing up we had a horse and it was my favorite thing in the world to ride it.

What about diving horses? Do they use ear plugs?

I know the feeling ,when it gets really hot here we either wait till late evening or not at all.

I could always tell what my horse was going to do from his ears.

Oh yeah, I can wiggle my ears. Does that count?

NO! It doesn't count because you don't do it while you are being ridden. Uh, that didn't come out right.

I am with you, I love the view from the back of my horse. I am always taking pictures while I am riding, as long as Brandy is jumping out of her hooves!

So, watch your mouth!

Thanks for stopping by to visit my blog yesterday! Hope you have lots and lots of juicy tomatoes. We've had record high heat the past week or so right at 100 degrees, so all my new blossoms dropped off. :( Guess I'll have to wait and see if I get any new ones and just focus on getting the plants green for now!

Love the horses - I used to ride when I was younger and your pictures really make me miss it.

Slip and slide... what memories! Those are your grandchildren, I assume?? And more on the way I see!! I have my 1st granddaughter due at the end of July - 2nd grandchild, 1st was a boy and he'll be 2 when his sister comes around.

Your husband seems very sweet!! My Hubs rarely wears a shirt around the house in the summer either - way too hot! Looks like he had a great Father's Day.

Well, just wanted to pop over and visit - thanks again for stopping by my place!
