Sunday Fun

Abby and her pregnant mama came out to visit yesterday. What a treat! When they got there Beth said that Abby didn't want any food from McDonald's when they stopped. Guess what she said! She told her mom that she would eat at Grandmother's house. See, she and Beth stopped at Kroger for us and picked up a dozen eggs. So naturally my precious thought of her favorite....cheesy eggs. It was so sweet that what did I do? I promptly went inside and whipped up some cheesy eggs and toast for her.

I think she is pleased.

Someone is enjoying her breakfast!

What a ham.

We did our usual, walked around the yard, fed the horses treats. Abby and I rode the golf cart but only as far as the driveway. Then it wouldn't go any more. Joe and I ended up pulling it down to the porch later on after they left.

Abby decided she wanted to go fishing with her Dora the Explorer fishing pole. Papa Joe took her down to the pond while Beth and I cooled off. It was hot outside! Just as we settled into the air conditioned comfort my cellphone rang. It was Joe saying Abby had caught a bass! We scurried to the pond with camera in hand. Look what we found.

See her fishing pole? She caught the bass with it!

Papa Joe helped her with it. She didn't want to touch it. You know what.....I don't blame her.

Ewwwww Papa Joe. I don't want to touch it. Meanwhile her mom was telling her she has to touch it since she caught it.

That's where I spoke up (knowing how gross touching a fish is....I can't do it, why should my precious have to) and said "hey, Papa Joe why don't you hold it and Abby will kinda help?"

And it worked.

Can a day get any better. Nope...not in my book!

Oh my.. Abby's looks are changing so quickly - she is loosing the 'baby girl' look and really turning into a precious young lady!

Such great times you guys have!

Thanks for sharing - I needed that, more than you will ever know!

I know ladies. I told Abby yesterday to stop growing up. She looked at me with a silly look on her face and said "I can't Grandmother." lol She is 4 now and will start school in the fall! Say it isn't so!

Abby is so adorable! I love how she wanted you to make her cheesy eggs! Too cute!
And catching a bass on that pole! Wow! I bet she was super excited! I love to fish, I don't mind touching them, but I grew up fishing with my dad and I think he made us touch them.

Yep, a great day. Out here in New Mexico we would add green chiles to the 'cheesy eggs.'

Way to go Papa Joe.

What fun! There's something incredibly fun about watching kids catch fish. Heck, I get excited when I catch a fish.
