TGIF!!!

I am so glad it is Friday. I drove many miles today for a meeting out of town. Left home at 5:30am and returned at 4:30pm. Whew! I did enjoy the weather however. Also I was able to meet several people that I talk/email with almost daily. It is always good to put a face to a voice.

Tomorrow Joe and I will attend a memorial service for his nephew and dinner with the family afterwards. I really dislike funerals. Ever since we had 3 funerals within a 6 month period in 1999, they have been very difficult for me to do. But, I realize it is necessary sometimes and that also it helps the grieving family. This is an especially hard time for my sister-in-law since her son was killed under strange circumstances. I honestly do not know what happened but the end result was his face was blown off with a shotgun and his wife was handcuffed and either stabbed or shot from the back which in turn tore her stomach to pieces. Thankfully she survived and will be able to live a somewhat normal life but will always need help. They had 2 sons, age 7 and 9 which is the reason for the service tomorrow. Apparently another child told one of the sons at school that his daddy really wasn't dead. I can't imagine how upsetting this must have been. These poor children have been through so much. It really puts things in perspective.

So, we will attend tomorrow and lend our shoulders or whatever is needed. If you feel so inclined, please say a prayer for them. Sissy and Tanya. It will be a very hard day.

Good Lord Lady!! What a terrible thing!
I am sure having you there to lend your kind heart and support will be helpul to the family. Now is sure a good time to be watching those growing babies on your sidebar!

That is absolutely horrifying. We will say our prayers for them and I am glad you are going. It may suck to go but you are right, you must be there for the survivors.

What an awful thing to happen. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I'll include you & Joe in my prayers, too. It will be a difficult day, but is good of you to support the survivors. These are situations where just "being there" means so much.

Prayers going up. There truly is evil in the world and it takes many faces - some attractive and some not.

God's blessings to you and Joe in this time of ministry.
