Still Recovering

Our area still is a mess. There are limbs down everywhere. Trees down. We have received lots of mula towards the cleanup but there is still so much to do.

I took these pictures Sunday coming home from town. So many yards look like this

And most every Bradford Pear tree looks like this one

See how it is split down the middle? They are everywhere. Some only have one limb left and now it is blooming. It is sad.

And most everyone has this in their front yard just waiting and hoping for a truck to come and scoop it up.

A lot of folks have piles like this one where they have done their best to round the debris up. They want to burn it but the problem is that most of the wood is so green all it wants to do is smoke.

I even saw these folks living in a camper in front of their house. I don't know what was going on but the house had damage and the windows were boarded up. They aren't very good pictures because I was driving and I didn't want to be rude and stop to take their pictures. After all, they looked like they had been through enough without having a nosey woman taking their picture!

If you look closely you can see the damage to the roof.

Our otherwise beautiful neck of the woods is littered with debris everwhere!

The local TV station is going to show a 90 minute program Saturday night with coverage they showed when 99% of us didn't have power. We will see it for the first time. I saw a preview of it last night and it looks interesting. I will watch it and be so grateful that we survived. Yes, we did. We did quite well actually. We were warm, bellies full and most of all we had each other.

Those photos are really something!! You are in Kentucky, right? We heard about the bad weather, but when you see pictures like these it really makes an impact.
Glad you visited my blog -- good to meet you. I'm envious that you have always ridden and always had horses. We got into this late in life. Your horses are beautiful! Love the bay....Looking forward to reading your future posts.

AA allows us to live through a tragedy, come out on the other side--and be grateful for what we have.

Used to be I'd nothing to say except be damning God for every human ill and suffering.
