I guess I'll live

This morning the same thing happened but not as bad. I just dealt with it. Joe changed the bandage, cleaned up the blood and I went off to work. It feels like a small war going on at the back of my head, but I know that is the healing. It is itching which is, of course, a good sign. It is just so annoying. I have a meeting to attend Friday for work out of town and I really don't want to sit there all day with a bandage on my head. I will wear it and I will also get over it.

Saturday we have a funeral to attend for my nephew. He was tragically killed several weeks ago. It's a long story that I don't want to get into, but my sister-in-law is having a hard time with it. I can't blame her at all. The entire family needs closure so it pretty much puts my hassles in prospective. There is usually something that will humble me into knowing how blessed I am.

Abby called us last night. What a smile that brought to our faces. I answered the phone and could hear her talking to her momma. She is such a sweetie. I can't wait for her birthday party a week from Saturday. All of our granddaughters will be there. One is still in the oven. We don't know what sex the other one still cooking is. Abby said last night "I believe it is a boy, I am going to have a brother." I love how grownup she can sound....and she's only 3!

Glad that the healing has begun. Maybe a nice hat to cover your head and the bandage would be good???

Here's a baby challenge for you: one of my coworkers just became a grandma and an aunt on the same day. Her daughter had a baby girl at 4:38 a.m. and her sister delivered a baby girl at 4:38 p.m. at the same hospital on the same day. They had been due a couple of weeks apart, but one went over and one came a week early.

I was reminded of this when I opened your blog this a.m. and saw Beth and Amy's babies dancing together in the margin.

I think it's probably cool enough there to wear a scarf around your neck to hide the war wound.

It's nice to get those humbling things that keep our perspectives healthy. And it's nice when we get to the place where we can spot them.

I am considering just leaving it open and showing everyone my third eyeball as Joe calls it.

Ok Ok, just kidding. That is a thought to keep in mind in case the meeting runs over. It would end it pretty darned quick. (who remembers PDQ?)

PDQ chocolate milk drink? I remember that. My grandma in Iowa usually had it around for us kids. My mom always bought Nestle's Quik.

I definitely think you should leave your wound uncovered at the meeting. And sit front row center, so everyone behind you can see it. Tell people they can touch it for good luck. It will be healed up before you know it, so take advantage of it while you can.

Third eyeball. I like it.

Sorry about your nephew. Whatever is going on I pray they can find resolution and peace.
