HumP dAy

I just thought I was going to come back to work yesterday after my appt. at the Wound Care Center. I walked out of the building at 3:20pm. Since I get off of work at 3:30 there was no need to drive the 10 minutes just to leave again so I came on home. Joe had taken my spot at school for Stephanie's schedule for next year.

The Wound Care Center folks asked me a bazillion questions and actually put together a book, binder & all, with my information. They took a picture of me, then my wound. The doctor said it looked really good but did change the course of treatment. They sent me down the street to buy a small item, looks kind of like styrofoam. You cut it to fit the size of the inside of the wound, then take a 2 X 2 gauze soaked in saline and apply it, then another piece of gauze then tape. Whew! I can't remember the name of it. But I have high hopes that it will work.

My next appt. is next Tuesday. Oh great, more work lost. But I am grateful that the fine folks I work for are good about understanding. I could be written up for the amount of time I have lost at work. Some companies do that don't ya know.

Taking any action no matter what the doctors say always makes me feel better.
TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF!

I still think you should have asked for a glass eye to keep in that hole in the back of your head.

So, you know what you can do with your glass eye. he he

A GLASS EYE!!! That's a brilliant suggestion! You could tell Stephanie that, yes, you do have eyes in the back of your head.

Hey, listen, would those foam packing peanuts work instead of buying styrofoam 'down the street'? I can start saving some when I get shipments if you like.

If someone asks you if your hair is going white...say, no that's the styrofoam I pack into the hole in my head. I bet they won't ask any more questions after that.

Uh, no Bill. Somehow I don't think that would work. But I appreciate the thought.

Wouldn't that just be "eye in the back of your head"? LOL. I'm so funny.

Hey, we need some pictures of this new treatment.

Take care,

And with an eye in the back of your head you could just go beep beep when backing up.

Glad your work is so flexible! Hang in there with the wound....soon it will all be a distant memory! (By the way, why is it we're typically so eager to post gory photos of our horse's scabbing sarcoids, yet not our own wounds, LOL!? ;)
