Good News

I finally heard from Ryan today. I was walking through Sam's Club when my phone rang. It was Ryan. He was at his dad's house. Seems he had been there since Friday night. Why Kevin didn't call and let me know is beyond me. I left a message Saturday and today wondering if he had heard from Ryan. Seems Ryan called a buddy that he met at Lifeline and stayed at his house Thursday night. This guy is really doing well and it was good that he stayed there. I was so afraid he had called some of his old buddies. You know, those that still were using.

He told me that immediately after taking the drink of liquor he felt horrible. He said the strongest guilt was that he had disappointed God. Then of course he had to deal with the disappointment he caused at Lifeline. A lot of trust had been put in to him and he let them down. But even so, the director offered to pay for a hotel room for him that first night out of his own pocket. He told Ryan that he hated so much to have to make him leave but that he had no choice. Ryan told him that he understood and apparently took his punishment quite well. He didn't try to whine or baby his way out of it. No excuses were made. What was done was done.

He is going to talk to the same guy tomorrow to see if, somehow, they might let him come back. He doubts it will happen but he wants to try. If not, he will hit the employment trail with a vengeance.

Prayers were answered yet again. It is so amazing how God works. He has a plan for us all and it is up to us to live that plan. We never know what is in store, but if we just trust in Him, all things are possible.

See? Still here! Hey, Ryan has another chance to "stay"...and when he stays, everything else will fall into place--in time.

I just read (again) God will give me whatever I need, if is for a spiritual need. So I guess that lays out pretty well, where I/we stand with God. Just ask?

I'm so glad that Ryan had some good insight into how he felt.
I'm relieved that he is OK.

I hope that Ryan learned from this. And that he decides to stay clean and sober.
