At Last!!!

Last night Joe stepped outside for something and noticed one of the ceiling fans on the front porch moving. He then looked up the hill and saw it. THE SECURITY LIGHT WAS ON.....POWER AT LAST! He came in and told me and we hugged....and danced....and acted silly. We deserved it. Next, we started unplugging all of the numerous extention cords that had provided our electricity for the past few days and put them up.

I will tell you more later about the 10 days with no power but for now some pictures.

Believe it or not, this is a willow tree. It looks like a bush.

The fences proved to be magical.

All in all we are very lucky. We never went without food, water or some form of heat. Even if that form of heat was layered clothes and a blanket. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

Life is Good.

Oh man, power at last! I know I wouldn't want to live in it but those pictures of the ice are just BEAUTIFUL. I guess there's a silver lining to every cloud then huh? Did the house your son is in go with out power too? How is he weathering this storm?

Yes Michelle, the place lost power and I have not been able to talk to him in a few days. I know that he is ok. I don't think God would lead him the way he has just to have something happen. I will probably go and see him this weekend.

Thank you for asking.

Great pictures. We lived through several ice storms like this in Tennessee and Pennsylvania. I'll appreciate it from afar via your pictures.

You should put the photo of that fence line on youtube. It is amazingly artistic. I never imagined that one would get such weather where you are. But, you see, how enlightening these blogs can be?

I soooooo know the feeling of discovering the electricy flowing again. Ike bew it away. That ice looks like it would make me shiver so much I'd lose my butt. Ok, Ok, I know there's not enough shivering in the world to do that but it's a great thought.

Goody. Now I can stop wringing my hands. I was rubbing them raw.

Those are spectacular pictures! Ice storms are so destructive, but you can't deny their beauty. Thanks for taking pictures for us. Did you recharge your camera battery with the generator before the power came back on?

Trailboss said...

No Bill, I always have a set of recharable batteries handy. Gotta be prepared!

The photo of the fence is spectacular ! Even though the ice storm caused many hardships, you looked to the "bright" side and captured some absolutely beautiful shots.
Glad you and yours are ok.
