Monday will be the day

I was contacted by yet another volunteer from the Murray SPCA at work yesterday. She confirmed that we were approved to adopt Kimba. We set up a time Monday to complete the paperwork and get the sweetness. I am either going to be really late for work or will just take the day off. I am leaning toward the latter. We have to get the crate from Charlie's house and get a new collar. Other than those 2 things we have everything else.

Needless to say I am so excited. Joe says he wants to see her first which we will do when we get there. I told him that they don't have a meet and greet session but that if for some reason we decide to not take her Monday we can back out. Also, if things don't work out for whatever reason we can take her back. I personally don't see either one of these things happening, but it made him feel better. I will be sure to pack my camera Monday to capture as much of it as I can. I can't wait!

Joe is still in the hospital. His shingles are better today but his sodium count continues to be low. The doctor ordered blood work this morning with the results to be sent asap to his office. Based on the levels he will decide whether to do more tests. His sodium has been lower before and he has been taking meds but we need to determine what is going on. He told me a while ago that I'd best be getting to the hospital and sit by him because at least 6 women have told him how pretty his eyes are. I have printed a huge sign saying "HE IS MARRIED SO BACK OFF!" and also have a sticker to slap across his forehead saying the same thing. Just kidding of course. I have never been the jealous type and I don't plan on starting now. I know where he comes home and that is to me! I am sure it makes him feel good though. He is a born flirt so that just goes along with it.

Last night I was at the hospital pretty late, at least for me. We were waiting on the doctor to come. He never came. I finally left about 7:30pm in order to beat the huge storm that was coming. I barely got home before it started. But was grateful to be in my cozy home while the rain and winds were going crazy outside. Sophie was glad to see me too. She just kept following me, picking up bones or pretties and being so proud. I just love how she smiles when she has them in her mouth. She grunts too all the while walking in circles so everyone will notice the treasure she is holding. Such a doll.

We are supposed to attend a family reunion/wedding shower in Princeton, Ky tomorrow evening. We don't know yet if we will make it. It all depends on how Joe is and whether he is still in the hospital. Either way I will send our gift. My brother-in-law is going so he can take it. Speaking of him, he called Joe's room last night. I chatted with him telling him how Joe was, etc. He said that if we need him for anything or if they can help at all to let them know. I quickly told him that there was one way he could help. He can pay our hospital bill! He stammered a minute and then kind of laughed. I caught him off guard. I love my brother-in-law. He is a great guy.

Meanwhile it is Friday. Whoo hoo!!!! I am a tired girl today. Looking forward to the weekend as always. Let's all dig down and give that smile to someone that needs it, even if they don't know they need it.

Oh....and another thing. I am trying to come up with a new name for Kimba. That name is just too Lion Kingy for me. Plus, I alway name my babies people names. Anyone have any ideas?

I have a feeling she will name herself. Enjoy the weekend anticipation of getting her. Nothing like a new puppy to perk up the soul.

I am so excited for you! I hope the next 2 days go by really fast, so you can go get your girl!
Hope Joe gets home soon!!
I like the name Kimba, but I know what you mean about the human names. We have named our dogs and some of our cats with human names, I don't know what I am going to do if I ever have children! I've used my favorite names already!!
