TGIF!

Why is it the first week of work after a vacation seems so long? That is how this week has felt to me. It could have something to do with the gorgeous weather we have had as well.

Joe has already mowed the yard twice (darn dandelions). He has tilled up the garden and 2 flower beds plus a watermelon patch. Our sweet neighbor Mr. Cannon can't grow them at his house for some reason so he picked out a place down by the corner of the dry lot where he predicts they will grow up to 100lbs. He is always trying to oneup his buddy Leroy.

We are going to have tomatoes, red bell peppers, banana peppers, and squash. No corn this year. The deer always eat them and it just makes a big ole mess. I can always stop at the farmer's market on the way home from work and pick out some just picked corn there. My mouth is watering just thinking of the fresh vegetables of summer. There's just nothing like it to me.

Jones has been showing a new personality lately. I think that now that Dakota isn't around to bully her around, she is being her true self. Joe told me last night that she has been kicking up her heels and running around quite a bit this week. I'm going to try and get some pictures this weekend.

I am also going to finish cropping and uploading the rest of the vacation photos. I keep forgetting in the evenings to do it. In fact, lately it has been so pretty outside Joe and I sit on the front porch and catch up for the day most evenings. That is a special time for us. It is so nice to be married to your best friend.

What plans do you guys have for the weekend? Are you having wonderful weather like West Kentucky is?

It is gorgeous here. We plan to watch the Blue Angels perform from our boat. Should be a ringside seat.

We're having good weather and we may even get a little rain this weekend which we need.

I told Betty when we moved to New Mexico from Ohio I wanted a house with two things: (1) no grass to mow and (2) no leaves to rake. So I'm happy. The only weed we have to control by spraying is tumbleweeds.

Enjoy your veggies.

I think the work week before a vacation is even longer. And all kinds of unexpected crap pops up.

I hope Patty is continuing to do well. I love seeing pictures of her.

I haven't mowed a lawn in 38 years and absolutely have no plans to ever do so again. I hope your watermelons are sweet, the ones we get here have been tasteless for years.
