Happy Thanksgiving!

I have had extensive dental work in the past week and still have quite a long road ahead on that item. Let me just tell you it is not fun at all. There are very few things I have been able to eat due to the extraction of 7 teeth last Friday. I have very sensitive gums and they have really taken a beating this week. The pain medicine helps but just for a while. Since it was still hurting so much my new wonderful dentist (who reminds me of my precious son-in-law Jeremy) wanted to check everything out to make sure there were no problems. I am happy to report everything is healing up nicely, but in the meantime Trailboss is not having a good time.

We decided to not cook Thanksgiving this year. We were going to go to a local restaurant but I didn't feel like it. Turns out the place was so busy that Joe ended up getting plates to go for all of us so we were still able to enjoy our dinner together, as a family at the dinner table. Eating at the table has always been a very important thing to me. It is where we all come together at the end of the day as a family. We are able to eat and talk about our day. It is the way I was raised and something that I have tried to pass on to my kids.

After I ate a little bit I laid down for a nap. I am not normally a nap person but I was not feeling well at all as eating irritates my mouth so much. I ended up sleeping for over 4 hours! It did feel wonderful though.

I am grateful to have the long weekend to try and recuperate from the trauma my mouth has been through. It will be worth it in the long run, it is just a bit hard to deal with until then.

Bummer. Teeth problems are no fun. I'm glad you still had a good family Thanksgiving meal together. It doesn't matter where the food comes from.

Just rest and enjoy your extended weekend of freedom! We have come a long way since the Galleria Plaza Hotel!

I hope that you feel better soon. Ugh--that must have hurt. Glad that you were able to enjoy the time together.
