She's come a long way

Annie that is. Since being diagnosed with cancer late last year our precious Annie has come a long way. Thank goodness.

This picture was taken in December 2008, just about the height of her illness. See how she has lost hair on her muzzle? She also has a red bump between her eyes. We hoped and prayed that she would be OK but honestly, we were both very very worried about her. She wasn't herself at all. She didn't want to play at all. There were times that Joe and I both saw the fright in her eyes when Sophie would play a little too rough close to her.

We continued to give her her medicine and took her to the vet as often as we thought she needed to go. And we prayed....a lot. We babied and loved on her. We did everything we could think of to make her comfortable. Many times Joe took her in his room, just the two of them, and just laid with her rubbing and loving on her.

She stayed with us through Christmas. She was right in the middle of everyone and everything just like she normally would be.

We just tried to make her as comfortable as possible for as long as we had her. Then, one day we both started to realize that she was acting more like her old self.

And play she did....and does. We have our Annie back. I just don't know what else to say except thank God. Thank you Lord.

She looks so good, I can't believe how far she has come back. I hope it stays in remission. Good luck!

I think your gratitude is well placed. We've seen God's healing in other animals, including our golden retriever years ago.

Thanks for sharing.

Glad to hear she is doing so good.
I had tears in my eyes just reading that! I get so emotional over animals!
Thanks for visiting me! I am excited to enter the public blog world!
