He's now our neighbor

Dakota that is. They bought him like I figured they would and that makes me happy. What doesn't make me happy is that Jones, my Morgan mare, is not a happy camper.

This girl nickered all night long. I felt so bad. The worst part is that Dakota is close enough to where he was nickering back to her. She has no idea what is going on.

I consoled her as much as I was able but a human is no subsitute for her man. I really felt bad. But, it is what it is. I will get another animal for her companion, I just don't know what yet.

Hang on Jones.....you'll be ok.

Too bad their pens can't be attached. Does your property abut the neighbor's?

No, there is a 30 acre field that seperates us. I checked with Joe this morning and she had settled down and was eating her hay. I can't imagine what was going thru her head all night when he didn't come home.

Your animals are so lucky to have such caring owners. You always try to do what is best.

They say that goats make good companions for horses, but I think you should get a kangaroo. You'd be the talk of the county.

I'm glad that Dakota has a new home. I'm sure that your mare will be okay. She just misses her friend.

Goats, donkeys, any hay eating animal will be a good companion for your girl.

Maybe find a rescue horse that just needs a good home?

It'll be a tough transition for your mare for a few days, but I'm glad to hear she is eating. I'm sure Dakota will be well-loved by the 13 year old neighbor. What a dream come true for a young teen! And how nice he is so close by. I think a goat or adopting a wild burro might be a nice pasture pal for Jones.
