Sara, Spencer's mama sent us a couple of pictures of him taken just before he passed away. I wanted to share them with you. As you can see, he was very much a part of their family.
Here he is wanting to get inside to his brother, Kade. Sara said he was so gentle with Kade from the day he was born. Every morning, after Kade got up, Sara and he would fetch a couple of dog biscuits and when Kade gave them to Spencer he took them so gently from his little fingers. He still says "dog" and Sara just melts with grief.
Look at how lovingly he is looking at his daddy. Does it get any better than that? I hope they find another boxer soon.

These are beautiful pics. At least you know he was extremely loved during his life. That is very comforting.
Oh Spencer was such a pretty dog. There really just isn't anything quite like a boxer's love. They are such great family dogs. Boxer rescue is normally overflowing in every state I've lived in, they shouldn't have a problem finding a new boxer.
I sent them a link to the closest boxer rescue in our area of the state. I hope they adopt thru there. I saw one on that site that looked so much like Spencer. He is deaf and blind so I don't know if they could handle that since both parents work.
I wanted to say too that they had never had a boxer before Spencer and Sara says she won't have any other breed. Once a boxer always a boxer I say!
That is so sad about his passing. But it seems he had a great life full of love. I hope she finds similar happiness with another dog too.:)
Thanks for sharing such a warm story. He looks like he was a wonderful dog.

It makes me so sad when someone's dog dies. I'm just a died in the wool dog lover.
What a sweet face! My heart goes out them in their time of loss.
