Stephanie and I went for a much needed ride today. She took her camera and captured some pictures. I kept asking her to take more but she was PMSing so I didn't push it!
I guess Jones has become accustomed to the cows cause she didn't bugger when she saw them.
One did insist on coming closer though.
I would love to have played in this creek as a child!
Onward bound
It seemed like it took forever to get to the trailhead.
This was a nice area to rest. Full of shade.
I quickly showed Steph the cool paths I had found. We just had a really great time. I love riding with my daughter. I feel so blessed that she loves horse almost as much as I do.
Look! More sunflowers! I swear they just grow all over the place out here in the country!
All in all it made for a fine day. One that I will keep in my memory bank. I just hope Steph does too.

That is so special you get to ride together. My mom has a horse too, but we are a couple hours apart and have not gotten to ride together yet. But on our family trip next month, we will! ;)
Its so awesome that you have trails like that to ride on. Im so jealous!
Beautiful pictures and memories! How awesome is that! Jenn
I can't get over how green everything is. We are drying up fast. It's been in the triple digits since Sunday with 25-40 mph winds. My cucumbers have died and my tomatoes are just hanging on. :(
I just can't get over how green everyone seems to be this time of year. We are the same way. Usually SD in July is dry and brown-but this year the grass is still green.
I know how you feel about getting to ride with your daughter. Some of Megan and I's best memories are of riding together. It is wonderful for me to have a daughter that is into horses as I am.
Isn't there a song "My old Kentucky Home"?
Yes Zane, it is sung at the Kentucky Derby every year. In fact I can still, well kind of play it on my cornet.
Memories, like the corners of my mind, la la la la de de de la la.
I do hope my daughter likes horses like yours does! The woods there are so thick and green. Looks like a wonderful trail ride. And those sunflower fields, they are amazing!!
The pictures make me want to ride alongside you. We could play in the creek!
I draw the line at cow buggery, though. Just establishing that boundary in advance.
