Evening Ride

Steph and I went for a nice ride yesterday when I got home from work. I enjoyed it so much! She was game when I called her from work but when I got home she said "I don't want to." She changed her mind though and I am glad she did. There is nothing like riding with your beloved daughter, at least for me.

"What do you mean you don't want to go?"

He he, just kidding. She took that while we were going down a country road. Yes Bill, that is right.....a COUNTRY road...lol. Here are a few more pics we took.

Please excuse my double chin in that one. Hey, I am entitled. I have been here for 50 yrs!

I just love this girl! Isn't she a doll?

The trail we were on when most of those pictures were taken actually used to be a road. In fact it still shows as a named road (Kansas Rd) when you look on GoogleMaps. There was a large fallen tree that hampered us from going farther. But that was ok. We had a swell time. We got home about 7 or so, I don't really remember. I wasn't ready to go home but Steph had some school work to finish up and she needed my help so we headed on back. Jones did a great job. She is really turning out to be a good ride. Finally I think I have found my horse for life. It's about time since I went through 4 before her. Actually one is Dakota which I gave to Steph since they are a good match. He is half thoroughbred and loves to run whereas I like to walk!

We took them home, untacked them and fed them. Then went inside and tackled Steph's English. That is about the only thing I am pretty good at so I was able to help her. She takes her math questions to her Dad.

Your hair looks great! We are both blessed with good hair. Now if we could get the rest to match! LOL

I like it short too. Much easier to take care of. Even tho it is filled w/gray I don't care. By golly I earned every one of them. Still earning a few apparently!

Your daughter is so pretty. I like the third picture, I wonder what she (and the horse) are looking at? I'm the grammar person in our house, too, and my DH handles the math!

Karen, They are probably just gazing into space. Who know! Thanks, she is a pretty little thing even if I say so myself!

I wish we had trails like that to ride 4-wheelers on. Its wide open and flat out here.

Happy 4th of July!

We are blessed to have a
daughter.Mine has been a joy since the day she was born. She's stubborn like mom,but that's the only bad quality she got from me.So she's 99% perfect. We'll take it, right!
Glad you found your "soul horse."

Steph is very much like me too. In many ways. I told her when she was 4 if she was going to be my daughter she had to love horses. She remembers that!

Very nice pictures and I'm sure it's a joy to ride with your daughter. We have an 8 month old granddaughter and I'm looking forward to riding with her in a few years.

Regards,

Dan

How fun that you are able to ride with your daughter! My mom has a horse, but, we are a few hours apart and have not gotten our horses together to ride yet. We will in August when our family takes our horses to a guest ranch trip, though, so I am looking forward to that.
Glad you have maybe found a forever horse in Jones!
