Every year since we have lived out in the country this particular field is always planted in sunflowers. The original reason was for Dove hunting when the season came around every year towards the end of summer. The man that originally planted them doesn't live there anymore but they continue to come up year after year. It is really a pretty site.
I took the pups for a ride Saturday morning and snapped these pictures. We also saw some nice fields of corn growing.
The corn needs about another month of growing before they will be able to harvest.
I also saw Barney the local quarter horse and his new pasture mate helping themselves to some of the neighbor's corn.
This field of wheat has been harvested and soybeans are sprouting up.
Wait, what is that? We are in the country. Does someone actually go to work in that thing?
Maybe I could hitch a ride to my job next week. On second thought I think my fear of heights would stop that before it could ever even happen.

Wow, you're getting quite good with that camera. I love the horse in the corn field:) And I'm with you on the fear of heights, sista!
Love the pics.
I love those sunflowers. Did you bring some home?
Enough already with the clean sky & fresh air. What next-unpolluted water!?!?!?
(I'm just jealous)
I have been living in Louisville for nearly 5 months and LOVE it. This area is beautiful..
Your photos are great and thanks for posting them.
Oh that field is beautiful!! So bright and cheerful!! Beautiful pictures! I love the horses stealing the corn!! :)
Great pics, TB. Those sunflowers are amazing!!!
Does it hurt horses to for them to feed in a cornfield? As in too much corn?
We have a lot of sea-plane commuters around here! Whatever floats your boat (or twirls your propeller!) I guess. Must be nice!
P.S. Doesn't look like you had fun w/that overnight visitor AT ALL! ;)
Beautiful pictures! I love a field of sunflowers.
What the heck is with the helicopter? Do you really think someone would use it to commute in? Wow! I was thinking that that couldn't be very fuel efficient, but hey-if you have enough money to afford a helicopter-I guess the price of fuel is really unimportant-LOL.
Gorgeous pics! The sunflowers dazzle my mind. And horses in amongst the corn -- too perfect. But yeah, could they colic? Gotta mind the delicate equine digestive system...
I agree lily. They aren't my horses. Otherwise I would not allow that. Poor Barney never gets ridden anymore. Seems his owner has turned 19 or so and has lost interest. It happens.
Beautiful! I love sunflowers!! We went through several States (About 13!) about two years ago. I looked everywhere for a field of sunflowers!! Never saw ONE!! I did see some beautiful farms and SILOS!! So I took pictures of those!!
