More of my trip down memory lane.
This is Jean Coil's house. Her daughter, Dorcas, built a house right next to her momma.
Tea gardens in here!
And here!
Here is Mam Maw and Pap Paw's house. Actually it looks like the little wellhouse is still there. I doubt it is still a working well now.
This is kind of where the road lead back to the Christmas tree farm that the Martin's had. I can remember riding Luckypony and picking out a tree for us. I think they cost $1 per foot. Amazing really.
This is all that is left from "the path". The path lead from the Martin's house to the Watkin's house. It was fun to ride bikes on. I can still picture our brother Mike on his bike flying down it. Someone has rudely built a house there now. Probably just to piss me off.
This is "the creek". All of the kids loved playing here. I remember finding rocks that had colored powder in them. We would bust them open, dampen the powder and paint our faces. I stopped in the middle of the road and took these pictures flagging people by me!
We were very lucky to have grown up with loving parents, loving grandparents next door and great friends in the neighborhood. I don't go down Contest very often but when I do it is always very special.

I know exactly where this is...lol. And I think I know your Dorcus. I used to live close to a lady named Dorcus 20 something year ago....
She teaches at Hendron Lone Oak, her last name now is Thompson I think.
Cool! Memory lane! Great photos. So natural and clean.
I love the name Dorcas. It sounds so whale-like.
Bill, have I told you lately that you are really a silly goose?
It is the same Dorcas.....too funny.
Small world huh jen?
The name Dorcas is in the Bible.
That is correct So. Three of their kids had biblical names.
