Ice Ice Baby

I entertained myself the past few days by taking pictures. It was fun. I would bundle up, talk to the girls and ask them if they wanted to go outside. They of course would get overly excited. Then we would go outside and see the beauty of nature.









This was the morning that Joe stayed at a friend's house. He had been out late the night before trying to score a generator. Things didn't work out with the first deal so he arranged another deal. That one worked, thanks to our nephew who works at Lowe's in Murray, Ky. Thanks Luke!


The girls and I went down to the road to see if Joe could make it home with the generator in tow.


I don't know..........it doesn't look like anything will be driving through that soon huh?



It doesn't look any better the other way either.



Look out Sophie!!! That limb is about to fall!



Meanwhile the pond was a winter wonderland. Look at the MockingBird sitting atop the pond!

The horses were wet and literally shivering.

Joe opened up the other side of the barn where there was fresh dry hay and they savored that.

Annie is trying to figure out why the Maple tree looks so strange.

It looks like an ice cave doesn't it?

This is the next day checking on the horses. The girls decided they wanted to eat some of the ice.

Yes it was trying, yes it was cold. There were a few times worse than others but we made it. The entire community made it. Some are still without power. I hope and pray they are able to get it back soon. But there is good news that comes from this event. Not only does it make everyone sit up and take notice that we all need to be better prepared, just think of all the little babies that will fill the nurseries at the hospitals in 9 months! I think all of the boys should be named Vanilla Ice..........ice ice baby!
