my dogs get into the pond. I followed them down there Sunday afternoon to see just what they do and why they do it.
Hi Mom! You comin' in?
Uh, I don't think so. That pond is a bit dirty but it does look refreshing on this almost warm afternoon.
Oops......we are busted Annie!
No Sophie, it's ok. I already invited Mom in. She's cool with it.
You sure? I don't want to get in trouble.
Yeppers. Mom said she understands now why we get in the pond. It's nice and cool on a warm day.
I bet the horses would like to get in after all of that running and stuff.
Probably, but they can't get to the pond. Their fence line stops right before the water. They would probably lie down like Mom's first horse did when she was young. Every time she rode into the pond or a creek that horse would lie down. She even had to jump off several times and get him out of the water. But I guess he was like us, loved getting in the water.
You mean horses are as smart as us dogs? No silly girl, they can never be as smart as us. You have so much to learn Sophie. My job never ends.
Come one girl, let's go to the house.

Those silly pups!
I love the color in these pictures and the clarity. Really nice! And the subject matter -- those girls are just so entertaining.
They are adorable
Sugar loves ponds, but she will not even think about getting in our pool. I have to drag her in and hold her the entire time
Love the pics - they are great !
This photo layout SO reminds me of a couple alkies out for a peaceful afternoon, fishing, swimming, and cavorting. CAVORTING? OMG!
Well, guys, let's cavort over to a meeting to an AA meeting, see if there's any 'fish-out-of-the-water'.
I meant to tell you I learned a new word here--prettys--I'm still trying to figure out how to work it into one of my posts.
Oh, and my husband also says "your darn tootin"
they look like they are having a ball--bet thet dont smell so good though!
They killed that duck decoy?
The further adventures. I wonder what they'll get into next.
Great pictures and a wonderful story.
Dan
I wondered who might mention the dead duck. Actually it is a decoy but then I am sure you already knew that.
I SAID decoy. Pam Bell.
