Horses and flies = Ouch!

My horses were stomping and flicking and carrying on trying to get the bothersome flies off of them yesterday when the girls and I walked up to the barn. It was time to take a little action to try and relieve them, if only for a while.

Say there Mom, uh, could you help us out here?

These flies are driving us crazy!

Well, you didn't have to stick your large butt in my face, I get the idea that fly spray is in order.

Mom, sometimes you get distracted with those silly dogs and you know it.

It's true Dakota. You guys come on over here and we'll get you fixed up.

You don't have to ask me twice!

I think Jones would have stood there all day as long as I kept the flies off of her.

Dakota doesn't do very well with sprays. Plus he is a very LARGE animal but I managed to get him doused in fly spray.

Whew! That is much better.

I swear, these are the fattest horses in the neighborhood! But I love them to death. Between my 2 horses, my 2 dogs and my great family I am one lucky woman. Life is GREAT!

Oh yea, your comment about did I ever think of moving to Kentucky?
Along with 48 others, Not on my list, However, my grandmother was from Kentucky. Her maiden name was Todd. Supposedly related to Mary Todd Lincoln. That's as far as my knowledge on that goes.

I don't blame you Zane since you are a city boy. You wouldn't know what to do with yourself in the country now would you?

Yep, flies and mosquitoes. Some day I'm going to ask God, "Why in the world did you make them?"

Magnificent horses, magnificent dogs.I'm glad those pesky flies are not annoying the horses anymore. Are they really fat? I don't know much about horses but they look pretty good to me.

You're such a good horsey mommy! For some reason, the flies don't seem too bad here this year! The mosquitoes weren't great though, especially around dusk!
