Springfield, MO where my precious daughter is living, is expecting over 15" of snow today and tonight. I am thankful that she is with family that will make sure she is ok.
Look what we could have received
Folks around these parts will never forget the Ice Storm of 2009. It was HORRIBLE! No power for 10+ days for our family. No cellphone service for days. It was like we were living 150 yrs ago. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. I know that Chicago and St. Louis got a lot of snow but I seriously don't think anything can compare to what West Kentucky got in 2009. I am so thankful that all we got this time was some rain.
I miss my Annie so much.
Yes....we dodged the bullet. That's for sure!

I remember when you posted these photos in 2009 and I'm still in awe over all the ice. That first picture reminds me of the first Chronicles of Narnia movie. The one with the icicles on the fence is so neat. You should enter it in a contest.
We had an ice storm like that when we lived in Pennsylvania in the mid-1970s. I agree. I would rather have snow than ice.

Yuck. I was in Lou for the 2009 and we got knocked out for a day. I was in Lexington area for the 2003 ice storm and it was awful. Fabulous pictures!
I recall your misery with that horrible ice storm. I'm glad you were spared this time. One of the saddest sounds to me is hearing the trees cracking & breaking under the weight of the ice.
