No News is Good News

We did not hear from Jason today about Annie. He was off today but we were told that he usually comes into the office about 3pm to check on his animals. When that time came and went Joe decided to go ahead and call to see what was going on. Jason didn't come into the office but he did call and gave one of the other vets instructions on the amount of steroids to give Annie. He knew she was doing much better and it looks like she will come home tomorrow. How exciting is that? I am so thankful that I am leaving work at 11am for the weekend. I have a dr's appt at 2pm but I should be able to see and/or talk to Annie before then.

We all feel much better about the entire situation. We don't know yet what is going on but that the medication is working and she is getting better. We opted to leave her at the vet's overnight just in case. We live so far out in the country we would hate to take the chance of her being home and needing to be close to the doctor.

I for one cannot wait to love on that precious face of hers. Have you ever seen a more lovable face?





We are having Christmas at our house Friday night and I know what my present is.......a healthy Annie. There is nothing more that I could ask for.

Update on Annie

Isn't she a beauty?

I just spoke with Joe. He saw Annie this morning and she looked much better. She was thrilled to see him and gave lots of kisses. Our wonderful vet's staff gave them an entire room to be in and he was able to look her over from head to toe, that is between hugs and kisses! Jason took a biopsy from her mouth and her belly. The earliest we will hear anything is 5 days, even with it being expedited. Her belly looked much better, had dried up quite a bit and her tongue was better, still discolored but better. The cortisone shot helped.

I asked Joe if she had eaten and he said they had given her two cans of wet food on his orders and she ate it all up. All in all it was good news. Jason is off today but he will be in around 3pm to see her and more than likely he will call Joe. It is so wonderful to have such a caring person to take care of our beloved pets.

If all goes well today and tonight we will more than likely bring her home tomorrow. I know Sophie will be ever so thrilled to have her sister back. I imagine we will all 3 argue on how gets to have Annie sleep with them tomorrow night!

I feel much better now and have hope that she will be ok. But it's not over yet. There still remains the mystery of her discolored tongue and the skin condition that needs to heal. But we seem to be on the road.

My Annie

Friends please pray for my Annie. She had to be rushed to the vet's office today. We have been treating her for a skin condition that seems to be getting worse, not better. Joe took her in yesterday where Jason, her vet, told us to stop all medicines for now. He drew blood for tests. Today Annie was very lethargic and when Joe looked at her her sores on her little belly were draining and her tongue was turning a black/green color. I rushed to the vet's office to meet Joe. She was happy to see me and gave me kisses and wagged her tail but she was obviously not herself.

We left her to have the biopsy done today and Jason will be able to look more closely in her mouth. His first thought was kidney failure but her blood work was normal plus she peed right before Joe left and it was dark which Jason said was good. He said that shows the kidneys are working.

They will call as soon as they find out anything but in the meantime we will not be well at all. If you are so inclined please include our baby in your prayers. She is so special to us.


***We have heard from Jason and Annie did fine during the procedure. He has expedited the biopsy in order to find out asap what is wrong. He said she is resting well and Joe will go to see her in the morning. I have being researching that condition on the internet but have not yet had any luck. As soon as we know anything I will let you guys know. In the meantime thank you from the bottom of my heart for your thoughts and prayers. Even though she is a dog she is so very special to all of us. Just the thought of her hurting is killing me. Thanks for being there***
