Steph found some pictures on one of her little websites that I thought were gone forever. We had our computer worked on a while back (I don't mention who the person was, just to say he will never touch anything of ours again) and when we got it back we had lost all of our pictures. After crying and whining and pitching a fit I finally got over it. But last night, when that little darlin' of a daughter of mine said she had these pictures....well....just judge for yourself.
First of all, this is the happy couple
Meet Sophie, oh that's right, you guys already know her. Well, meet her boyfriend Maddox. Isn't he a beauty? He and Sophie "got together" several times.
I'm ready....always ready. Typical guy huh?
Oh Momma....what have I done? I'm not a virgin anymore.
We were sure to let Sophie know that she was a good girl and that in a few weeks she would be a momma herself. She listened with her big ole purty eyes but she didn't understand of course. When she went into labor the poor thing was so freaked out that when the first pup came out she jumped up on Joe's bed and looked at it. That is until they were all born and then and only then did she know what to do.
Are they not just the most precious things in the world? More to come in the next few days!

Dogs are good for what ails ya!
While I was kinda laid up this weekend with my foot up, I was entertained many times over by my precious pups. First Annie found her pretty in the bathroom and played with that.
Then she decided to get in my lap. She does that every evening and mornings on the weekends.
Yo Mom....move over!
Cause I'm coming up.
They sure do make a gal feel better.

Good News and Not So Good News......UGH
The good news is that my head wound almost completely healed. I haven't had a bandage on it since I removed the last one on Friday at work. Joe looked at it this morning and it is basically filled in. I go back to the Wound Care Center Tuesday, hopefully for the last time. We shall see.
The not so good news is that this damned gout has acted up again. I phoned the doctor on call Saturday morning and he called in some medicine. It seems to help a little but it upsets my stomach. I took it as directed yesterday and when I first got up this morning but no more. The bad out weighs the good this time. I am trying to keep the foot elevated as much as possible but I gotta tell you, I am getting so sick of doing nothing. I can't even get a shoe on much less do anything else that requires being on my feet.
I did manage to cook Beef Stognaoff last night for dinner. Joe had been wanting it for a few weeks so I pulled out my trusty 1980s copy of Betty Crocker and made the only recipe I have ever made for it. It would have been better for me to have made a vegetarian dish for sure but I must say I enjoyed it. I think soup is in order for dinner tonight.
I have been working on building some photo albums on Walgreen's website. I've got an email where I can get 25 copies free when ordering 25. Not a problem for a gal with as many pictures as I take.
I hope everyone is having a fantastic Sunday. I'm off to find my pups outside.

Sophie
I talk a lot about Annie but we have another sweetie in the family. Her name is Sophie.
Isn't she a doll? She doesn't sit as well in the recliner with me as Annie. She kind of sits her butt down and puts her paws on the leg rest thingy. But it works and is better than what she used to do which was lean lean lean. She is our lean-er. I grabbed the camera the other day and took some pictures of her doing just that, sitting.
I love this one.
Apparently the camera focused on my hand instead of her sweet face.
She has the most beautiful eyes.
I am trying to hide from the camera here while Steph took the picture cause I hate having my picture taken. Especially since I had on my ratty, holey, favorite t-shirt. But you can see how she is sitting. Silly girl.
She is quite the clown. Every time she hasn't seen someone, even if for 2 minutes when we go outside, she curls and gets so excited. She always looks for a bone, pretty or just about anything that belongs to them to pick up and be proud of. That is what we think anyway. She acts like she is showing the pretty/bone to you for the first time. It is quite funny. She also barks at herself in our bathroom. She will hop up and see herself in the mirror and bark.....loud.
I would recommend a boxer for anyone who has either the room for them to run or is willing to walk them several times a day. They are great with all kids and most door to door salesmen are afraid of them....he he. Oh, it would also be a good idea to want a large dog. They usually mature to anywhere between 60 - 100lbs. Another thing, puppy class is mandatory!

TGIF!
It's been a long week, or at least it seems like it. I am glad it is Friday, how 'bout you folks? Last weekend our super nice neighbors, Mr and Mrs Cannon, brought their tractors over and turned up 2 of our pastures. It was way past time to re-seed the grass. Joe went to town and got a combination of 3 grasses plus fertilizer. That was mixed in a hopper. Have you guys ever seen one of these?
They are as handy as a pocket on a shirt. We were able to mix the seed and fertilizer in the hopper, then Mr Cannon pulled it behind the tractor and seed and fertilizer flew all over the place! The horses were curious as to what the sound was, then some of the seed would hit them and they ran off. It was funny to watch.
I didn't get any pictures of the horses running. I'm not sure why. I know I was trying to avoid being hit by the flying seed and also trying to keep it out of my large glass of sweet tea.
Mr Cannon is lowering something over the fence. We ended up having to take down a post in order to get it back through. We weren't thinking when we put that gate up and put in a small one. Oh well, we can always put up another post.
We will need to wait at least 6 weeks before letting the horses feed on the luscious new grass. Then, we will only let them graze a little at a time. Don't want any colic. They are not used to the sweet green grass so we always have to wean them into the fields. Meanwhile we have plenty of hay, thanks to Joe's hard work helping Mr and Mrs Cannon harvest and bale their hay. Thanks to them too for giving us several large round bales of good hay in exchange for his work. We tried to pay them but Mr Cannon just laughed in Joe's face.
It will be interesting to see how the grass grows. Isn't that a title to a book or something?

Still Recovering
Our area still is a mess. There are limbs down everywhere. Trees down. We have received lots of mula towards the cleanup but there is still so much to do.
I took these pictures Sunday coming home from town. So many yards look like this
And most every Bradford Pear tree looks like this one
See how it is split down the middle? They are everywhere. Some only have one limb left and now it is blooming. It is sad.
And most everyone has this in their front yard just waiting and hoping for a truck to come and scoop it up.
A lot of folks have piles like this one where they have done their best to round the debris up. They want to burn it but the problem is that most of the wood is so green all it wants to do is smoke.
I even saw these folks living in a camper in front of their house. I don't know what was going on but the house had damage and the windows were boarded up. They aren't very good pictures because I was driving and I didn't want to be rude and stop to take their pictures. After all, they looked like they had been through enough without having a nosey woman taking their picture!
If you look closely you can see the damage to the roof.
Our otherwise beautiful neck of the woods is littered with debris everwhere!
The local TV station is going to show a 90 minute program Saturday night with coverage they showed when 99% of us didn't have power. We will see it for the first time. I saw a preview of it last night and it looks interesting. I will watch it and be so grateful that we survived. Yes, we did. We did quite well actually. We were warm, bellies full and most of all we had each other.

Different laughs
That is what I practiced driving into work this morning. I was really silly too. If someone had been in the car with me they might have called the men in white coats. But even though I overslept about 10 minutes (which throws me off because I don't usually allow much extra time) I was in a great mood. Probably because I got my hair cut yesterday!!!!!!!!!! He he, I got a little boy cut too and I don't care! I told her to cut it short short short. No So, don't get any ideas. I swear, that boy. Anyway, I laughed out loud many times. All of the laughs were different. Some silly and some just like anyone would laugh. But it was fun! I also said out loud what I love. I even started talking to fellow motorists. I don't care, I was and am in a fantastic mood. I also told myself I was not going to say anything negative to anyone today. Hell, I was even really nice to a fellow employee (a temp) that I really don't care for that much. He gets on my last nerve. I have decided today will be a great day if I have anything to do with it.
I know that I said I wasn't going to mention my wound but I wanted to let you guys know something. I had another appt. at the Wound Care Center (sorry piglet, I didn't even think of getting a picture for you). The wound has closed up a great deal in just one week! How exciting is that? They told me it was doing really well. So between that good news and me getting my hair cut yesterday made it a red letter day. I have never understood what that means but Mom used to say it so that makes it a good thing.
Let's all have a great day today. Let's all look for the good in people and perhaps laugh, a lot. I know I will.

Today is Tuesday
I was so tired at work yesterday. For some reason Sunday night I had a really hard time getting to sleep. Got about 5 hrs and that is not enough for this broad. I managed to muddle through the day and also managed to not fall too asleep at the wheel going home. As soon as I hit the door at home I went straight to bed for a glorious 2 hour nap. Oh my, did I feel better when I got up at 6pm. Joe made dinner, we ate, watched a little tv and it was time for bed. I can't tell you how much better I feel this morning.
Thanks for your sweet comments about my Annie yesterday. She slept with me all night last night. I love it when she sleeps with me. Stephanie has taken to rounding up Sophie when she goes to bed at 9:30 so she can sleep with her. Poor poor Joe is left with no dog to sleep with. Although I do leave my door open so Annie can come and go as she wishes. But she usually wishes to sleep with her momma. He he.
Today is a good day. Things are right with the world. I am going to take that attitude throughout the entire day today. I am a blessed woman and I am happy. What more could a gal want?
Oh Oh Oh....and I talked to my Abby last night on the phone. She is going to see her great grandparents this weekend! I wanted to have her but that's ok. I can see her anytime. Her great grandparents are from Michigan so they don't get in very often.

My flappy lipped babies!
I love my dogs so very much. I would rather them sleep with me than my husband and guess what. I know that he feels the same way. It's ok, we have an "arrangement." I took these pictures this weekend. Joe and I both think that our Annie is in remission from her skin cancer. We continue to give her meds daily but by looking at her and watching how she acts she is back to her old self. What a blessing. We could not be more thankful. Well, you just judge for yourself!
I got a pretty Momma!
I see that you precious, most wonderful puppy dog in the world!
See how her legs are so much more clear than they were!!!!!!
Note So, I put the water up. I know that is the first thing you looked for!
Momma, I still have my pretty. I think I will just lie here with it.
I looooooove my pretty!
Hey! Wait just a dadgum minute! What is my daddy doing?
Oh honey....he's just giving your sister some attention.
After all, for once she is leaving your pretty alone.
Well, OK. Sisters.....what good are they?
I wasn't able to capture on film the many times she threw her pretty up in the air and tried to catch it. Or how she ran and ran playing with it. Yes, she has come a long way. We are so thankful to have our baby back to her old self.
